New York Day 7, Where Texture and Color Meet

Today was my last full day in the wonderful New York City! I spent the day exploring the different cultural areas of the city, and I was amazed by how much diversity dwells in the same general area. You can walk down canal street and pass through china town and little italy and soho.... which is exactly what I did.

Every cultural area was very distinct and full of vibrant colors and interesting textures. So much diversity, yet it all works together on this little island!

With many cultures comes many religions. I came in contact with people of all different beliefs, yet I feel like this city is longing for Jesus Christ! This week has really motivated me to share the joy I have found in my savior!

This has been an absolutely amazing week! I have really grown as a photographer, performer, and a christian! I cannot wait to continue exploring the world around me, and I will continue to share my findings with anyone who cares to read them! I will miss this city!

Thanks for reading,

New York day 6, City Scenery!

Everywhere I look there is something interesting and a little different to snap a picture of! My camera has been practically attached to me, and I must look like a complete tourist as im taking pictures on the subway haha! There is so much diversity and contrast here.

image_1

I love it when a picture is symmetrical.... but lately I have really enjoyed making them intentionally a little off balance. In the subway picture above, I intentionally focused on a rail that was off center.... I like that your eye has to do a little searching before you notice what exactly is focused.

These are all examples of something that is just a little off balance, Am I crazy to think that its really interesting? Maybe I am, but at least im breaking out of my symmetry bubble!

If anyone wants to see something specific, please leave a comment and I will do my best to make it happen! Im having a blast with this blog..... and I hope at least one person enjoys reading it :)

New York day 5, we come and we go.

Transportation...... its gets us where we need to go. We are always moving, always progressing, always going somewhere.

God is always opening and closing doors. He controls the final destination, and He decides when I should move and when I should just be still.

image_4

I wonder if we every miss out on the beauty of where we are because we are always looking ahead to where we want to be. Sometimes I find myself becoming to focussed on my future, and I forget that God placed me where I am right now to serve him.

New York Day 4, The Unique Faces and Places.

Today I actually managed to get a few shots of the people of New York City. I don't want to take pictures of the cliche and obvious things this city has to offer, I want to capture things out of the ordinary! I want my readers (if there are any..) to view this city from a different perspective. In order to truly capture the spirit of this city, I would need much longer than my short week and a half..... but im trying my best and having a blast!

Every person has a story. We so often forget that every person rushing past us on the street has a unique life. They are coming from somewhere, and going somewhere.... sometimes I just wish I knew where.
As an actress, these stories intrigue me!

I finally got two pictures of people!!! Yay! I have had a blast trying to capture different aspects of this fascinating city! If anyone wants to see something specific, let me know. If not, then I will keep posting completely random pictures and sharing my even more random thoughts!

Thanks for reading :)

New York day 3, From The Studio To The Streets.

I spend most of today in a beautiful dance studio with huge windows that overlook the city. As I was dancing, I would glance over to the windows and suddenly get a chill of excitement as I remembered that I was dancing in New York City! Its a performers dream!

These pianos have been played by New York's best pianists, accompanying broadways biggest stars.... that blows my mind!

Sometime the reflection is more vibrant than the original......

After dancing and singing for hours, I headed out onto the streets to see Sister Act on broadway. I was clicking my camera the entire time, and came across a few very interesting subjects for my photo obsession.

You would have to be a very brave person to ride a bike in this city.... cab drivers are vicious!

Im sure there are a ton of interesting buildings, people, and studios for me to capture through my lens, so please keep reading :) Thanks!

New York Day 2, City Silhouette.

Day 2 of my nyc blogging adventures! I was indoors singing, dancing, and acting most of the day, and I pulled my camera out the moment I stepped through the revolving door that led me onto the city streets. The sun was going down, which was perfect for creating silhouetted images.

image_1

I love it when you cant quit tell what your looking at, and your creativity has to kick in. I don't always to make it obvious what I took a picture of.

image_2

Hopefully I will get some pictures of the people living in this city before I leave... but people tend to give me weird looks when I take pictures of them as they are walking down the street, so we will see how that works out as I blog on!

Thanks for reading :) Visit again tomorrow!
